Plaudits

Dr. Becky J. Starnes, assistant professor of professional studies, had an article, titled An analysis of psychological contracts in volunteerism and the effect of contract breach on volunteer contributions to the organization, published in the April edition of The International Journal of Volunteer Administration.

Dr. Tim Winters, associate professor of languages, is the recipient of the Award for Excellence in College Teaching for 2007 by the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS).

One recipient is chosen by the CAMWS for the award. Dr. Becky J. The CAMWS, a professional organization of professors and secondary school teachers of Greek and Latin, covers 34 states and Canada.

Dr. Gail M. Robinson-Oturu, professor and chair of music, recently served on the Tennessee Arts Commission's Citizen Advisory Panel in Nashville.

Panelists meet once a year to offer advice on program planning and to review grant applications.

Billy Renkl, professor of art, will show his exhibition, “Leaf by Leaf,” from May 3-June 9 at the Downtown Artists Co-op.

Opening reception is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May. Renkl will present a gallery talk at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 7.

Gallery hours are noon-6 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday.
