Dr. Daniel L. Frederick, who teaches in the School of Geosciences, will present research at the 56th annual meeting of the Southeastern Section of the Geological Society of America, March 29-30 in Savannah, Ga.

Frederick will be among 750 geoscientists attending.

The title of his research is “Conodonts of the Bigby-Cannon Formation, Central Tennessee.” In the research, 18 samples from a transect of the Bigby-Cannon Limestone in Liberty Branch Creek, Gallatin were examined for conodonts.

All samples produced a moderate abundance of conodont elements with excellent preservation, Frederick concluded.
