Cindy Marsh, professor of art, and art major students are teaching teens ages 12-15 in a new visual arts and creative writing program called LISTEN UP!! Clarksville Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the effort.

The workshops, offered for free at city community centers and the public library, offer teens hands-on opportunities in creative writing, graphic design and letterpress printing.

Lori Buchanan, instructional services librarian and professor of library administration, will teach a three-week online seminar with colleagues from other universities four times throughout 2005-07 contract year, as approved by the Association of College and Research Libraries.

The course is Assessing Information Literacy Learning Outcomes. Buchanan was among three instructors to teach the online course six times during 2003-05. She also will co-present a national full-day workshop on the topic Jan. 20 in San Antonio, Texas.

Seminar participants include practicing librarians, library school students and others from around the world.
