Austin Peay State University is a signature sponsor for the April 17-19 Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville, which will feature APSU students, faculty and staff in various roles.

One of the events highlighted at the festival is APSU's annual Plant the Campus Red effort. Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to bring their gloves and hand tools and help APSU plant flowers all over campus, preparing it for the spring and summer months.

To preregister a team of volunteers, contact Rachel Vinson by telephone at (931) 221-7352. Preregistered participants will receive a free T-shirt and lunch. Registration also will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19 in the McCord parking lot on the main campus.

Following Plant the Campus Red, a cookout will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Morgan University Center Plaza.

Later that Saturday, the APSU Jazz Collegians will perform at 5 p.m. on the festival's Jazz ‘n Wine stage.

The annual festival is coordinated by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Economic Development Council.
