National Panhellenic Council names scholarship for former VP

The Austin Peay State University National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) will host the inaugural Legacies of Greatness Scholarship Banquet to announce and celebrate the establishment of the Dr. Jennifer Meningall Scholarship.

The Legacies of Greatness Scholarship Banquet will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8 in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.

Meningall, now vice president for student affairs at the University of South Florida, Tampa, was vice president for student affairs at APSU from 1998-2005.
The Austin Peay State University National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) will host the inaugural Legacies of Greatness Scholarship Banquet to announce and celebrate the establishment of the Dr. Jennifer Meningall Scholarship.

The Legacies of Greatness Scholarship Banquet will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8 in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.

Meningall, now vice president for student affairs at the University of South Florida, Tampa, was vice president for student affairs at APSU from 1998-2005.

As the guest of honor, Meningall will be recognized for her support of NPHC at APSU. The evening's activities also will highlight her support for the value and contribution of fraternities and sororities and her commitment to advancing the needs of all APSU students.

Meningall earned a doctorate in educational organization and leadership from Columbia University Teacher's College, a master's in counseling and human development from Long Island University and a bachelor's in political studies and communication from Adelphi University.

Besides serving 18 years in various capacities in state, private and community colleges, Meningall has taught psychology and leadership courses for 17 years as an adjunct instructor.

NPHC, in line with its purpose of promoting educational, social, economic and political empowerment of the collegiate community, elected to establish the Dr. Jennifer Meningall Scholarship to benefit deserving college students.

NPHC at Austin Peay is composed of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
