Music professor presents violin recital

Austin Peay presents a violin recital featuring Assistant Professor of Music Douglas Droste.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22 in the concert theatre of the music/mass communication building.

Professors of music and pianists Anne Glass and Dr. Jeffrey Wood will accompany Droste in performing sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven and Aaron Copeland. Antonin Dvoraks Piano Quintet in A Major will feature members of the Austin Peay String Quartet and professor of music and pianist Patricia Halbeck.

Austin Peay presents a violin recital featuring Assistant Professor of Music Douglas Droste.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22 in the concert theatre of the music/mass communication building.

Professors of music and pianists Anne Glass and Dr. Jeffrey Wood will accompany Droste in performing sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven and Aaron Copeland. Antonin Dvorak's “Piano Quintet in A Major” will feature members of the Austin Peay String Quartet and professor of music and pianist Patricia Halbeck.

Droste, who conducts the APSU Symphony Orchestra, frequently performs with the Nashville Symphony and other regional ensembles. He joined APSU's music department in 2000 having previously served as an instrumental music instructor in Baltimore, Ohio, and the music director/conductor of the Paducah (Ky.) Symphony Youth Orchestra.
