Music department to host faculty recital

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will sponsor a faculty recital.

Francis Massinon and Anne D. Glass, both professors of music, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Francis Massinon and Anne D. Glass, both professors of music, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Massinon, who plays the French horn, has been a frequent recitalist and adjudicator at several universities. He has playing experiences with many orchestras in the Midwest and recently has served as principal hornist with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as a featured soloist with the Austin Peay Brass Ensembles and Woodwind Ensembles.

Glass holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from George Peabody College. Most active as an accompanist, Glass attended the Franz-Schubert Institute in Baden, Austria, where she participated in masterclasses of German lieder with Jorg Demus, Ely Ameling, Walter Berry, Erik Werba and Hans Hotter.

The recital will include works by Otto Ketting, Carl Maria Von Weber, Franz Danzi and Robert Sanders. Professor Lisa Vanarsdel, flute, will join Massinon and Glass in a performance of Kathryn Hoover's "Summer Night.”
