Troy opened the second half with five of the first six points, tying the game at 38-38 just 59 seconds into the half. Austin Peay scored the next seven points and led 45-38 with 16:22 remaining. Troy battled back to within two points three minutes later. However, the Trojans started a six-minute scoreless streak with 11:19 remaining, during which the Lady Govs put together a 19-0 run and took a 23-point lead, 74-51, with 4:44 left. The lead would stay in the 20s until some late tidying up by Troy with Austin Peay's reserves on the floor.

Junior Ashley Haynes finished with team-bests in points (15) and rebounds (7). She was joined in double-digit scoring territory by four other Lady Govs: sophomore Missy Booker (12), freshman Ashley Hardaway (13), junior Carden Cobb (13) and freshman Robin Leslie (12). Austin Peay won the rebounding battle, 43-39, and outshot Troy, 47.5 to 36.9 percent, including a 43.5 percent effort from three-point range.

APSU returns to action with a 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, contest in Bowling Green, Ky., against former OVC member Western Kentucky. It will be the first meeting between the two teams since 1998.
