HOPE Lottery Scholarships available for nontrads, dually enrolled

APSU has good news for both nontraditional students and students seeking dual enrollment. They could be eligible for the Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship.

APSU officials are advising nontraditional students that if they meet the following requirements, they could be eligible for a $3,300 Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship.

To be eligible, a nontraditional student must:

•Be at least 25;
•Be a legal resident of Tennessee for one year;
•Have an adjusted gross income of no more than $36,000; APSU has good news for both nontraditional students and students seeking dual enrollment. They could be eligible for the Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship.

APSU officials are advising nontraditional students that if they meet the following requirements, they could be eligible for a $3,300 Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship.

To be eligible, a nontraditional student must:

•Be at least 25;
•Be a legal resident of Tennessee for one year;
•Have an adjusted gross income of no more than $36,000;
•Have never previously attended college (with the exception of military personnel with military credits);
•Attend an eligible institution and attempt at least 24 semester hours;
•Maintain satisfactory progress in a course of study; and
•Have filed a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. No retroactive awards of the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship will be made. Students who enroll at APSU for the first time in Fall 2005 may be eligible for the first payment of the award in Fall 2006.

For Fall 2005, high school students who are dually enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution are eligible for the dual enrollment grant if they meet the following requirements.

A dually enrolled student must:

•Be a Tennessee resident for one year;
•Be admitted to an eligible postsecondary institution as a dual enrollment student; and
•Apply for the dual enrollment grant.

Students can apply for the grant at their individual high schools.
