Graphic designer, critic is 2006 Acuff Chair for spring semester

Linda Norlen, graphic designer and critic, is the occupant of the 2006 Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence in the Creative Arts at Austin Peay State University.

Norlen, a graphic designer and critic for 25 years, will teach a publication design course during the Spring 2006 Semester on the main campus. The semester gets under way Tuesday, Jan. 17. She also will present speeches, review student portfolios and conduct presentations.

Norlen, a graphic designer and critic for 25 years, will teach a publication design course during the Spring 2006 Semester on the main campus. The semester gets under way Tuesday, Jan. 17. She also will present speeches, review student portfolios and conduct presentations.

Norlen most recently worked for a design institute in Ivrea, Italy, and has taught at design institutes in California. She also has served in several leadership capacities at art institutes.

“Linda is considered an excellent publication designer and powerful art administrator (as a dean) and an emerging art critic and creative non-fiction writer,” said APSU Professor of Art Cynthia Marsh.

Established in 1984, the Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence in the Creative Arts brings regionally and nationally acclaimed artists together with students, faculty and community in a creative environment.
