Grammy winners bring “Calypso Christmas” to Austin Peay

Austin Peay welcomes the Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band for a Calypso Christmas concert Dec. 4.

The Grammy-winning group will perform from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Thursday, in the lobby of the Morgan University Center.

The Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band is known for playing a variety of classical, calypso, reggae and rock ‘n roll music. They have performed twice for Queen Elizabeth II, toured with Liberace (winning the Grammy for Liberace Presents) and entertained crowds at 40 major state fairs and more than 300 colleges and universities.
