The Governors hung tough during the first half, limiting the PFL favorites to just 13 points, twice forcing Dayton to settle for field goals. In fact, the Govs had a chance to go into halftime trailing by just 13-7 but saw a Jesse Kellogg pass dropped in the end zone by a wide-open Carlos Crawford on a fourth-down play.

The Govs' inability to move the football early in the final half and the Flyers strong punt-return game ended up allowing Dayton advantageous field position. They scored on drives of 41, 25 and 15 yards in the third quarter to put the game away.

The Govs will seek their first win at noon, Saturday, when they travel to Indianapolis to play Butler in another PFL interdivisional matchup.
