The Austin Peay women's basketball team received a 14-seed in the Mideast region of the NCAA women's tournament. They will meet third-seeded North Carolina in an 8:18 p.m. contest Saturday in Boulder, Colo.

An estimated 500 people assembled around four big-screen TVs at the Dunn Center Sunday afternoon to catch the NCAA tournament pairings as they were broadcast by ESPN and CBS.

News of the women's No. 14 seed and far-away arena brought a chorus of groans from Lady Govs and their fans. The Lady Govs (27-3) boast the nation's second-longest winning streak22 games.

The Govs fared far better, with a higher-than-expected No. 13 seed and a Birmingham destination, roughly a four-hour drive from Clarksville.

Tickets went on sale Monday for season-ticket holders, today for the general public. Cost for a single-game ticket is $40 for the Friday game, $120 for a four-game ticket book.

Tickets for the women's games are $15.
