Govs Club spring cookout to be tied to Plant the Campus Red

The Governors Club will sponsor its annual spring sports cookout Saturday, April 24, in conjunction with Austin Peays annual Plant the Campus Red day.

Beginning at 9 a.m., APSU students, supporters and other volunteers will embark on planting some 8,000 new plants on campus. To conclude the planting activities, the volunteers are invited to attend a cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs across campus in the pavilion area at Raymond C. Hand Park.

That cookout will continue much of the afternoon. Supporters of Lady Govs softball will be able to come prior to their noon doubleheader with Eastern Illinois. Later in the afternoon, Governors baseball followers can enjoy the cookout prior to the 2 p.m. doubleheader with Tennessee-Martin.
