"His humble and yet encouraging attitude is shown not only with his peers but with all levels of management." Denton won in the support staff category.

Reggie Wooden, Web manager, was the winner in the professional category. His nomination, submitted by Director of Information Technology Charles Wall, read: "I constantly receive compliments from faculty and staff who have been helped by Reggie."

Wall noted the pride Wooden takes in his work, particularly in the success of Web-based courses.

"Reggie offers short 'how to' courses at the beginning of each semester for students who have enrolled, both at night and on weekends. It is not unusual to find him in the office at night, early in the morning or over a weekend at personally inconvenient times to install a piece of software or hardware in to minimize inconvenience on others."

Wooden also has been active in campus events, giving freely of his time to help with events like Plant the Campus Red, Wall said.

Linda Campos, a secretary in the psychology department, was the winner in the clerical category.

In her nomination, Dr. Nanci Woods, professor of psychology, said: "Linda has supported the faculty in our department and students at the University very well for many years. She treats everyone with respect and has created a warm professional environment in each of the three office locations she has had to establish.

"Our department is a better working and learning environment because of her consistent professional efforts."

Denton, Wooden and Campos ar eligible to become Employee of the Year. The winner of that title receives $1,000.
