Edscholar Program provides scholarships for selected, incoming freshmen at APSU

APSU continues to offer the Edscholar Program to designated recipients to underwrite tuition expenses over a maximum of four years.

According to Scott McDonald, director of admissions, incoming freshmen selected as Edscholars receive $4,500 per year. He said, They are well-rounded students, who are a credit to APSU and their respective communities.

According to Scott McDonald, director of admissions, incoming freshmen selected as Edscholars receive $4,500 per year. He said, “They are well-rounded students, who are a credit to APSU and their respective communities.”

Student-loan provider, Edamerica, and servicing partner, Edfinancial, sponsor the Edscholar Program to expand access to higher education throughout Tennessee. By funding scholarships for worthy students, the program designates Edscholars and holds them to a standard of excellence.

"The Edscholar program is a great scholarships opportunity for incoming freshmen,” McDonald said. “Austin Peay is grateful for the opportunity to award these scholarships and looks forward to a continued successful working relationship with the program.”

The Edscholar Program awards scholarships to qualified students in their freshmen year, with a commitment to continue the award to the same studentspending their compliance with scholarship-retention requirementsup to four years.

The awards are disbursed to the APSU Office of Student Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs on behalf of the recipients. Awards are based on a variety of criteria including leadership, academic merit, community service and financial need. Edscholars must be Tennessee residents.
