Director, lighting designer Frank Leupold to lecture Nov. 9

Austin Peays department of communication and theatre presents director and lighting designer Frank Leupold as part of the Fall 2003 Guest Workshop Series, Sunday, Nov. 9.

Leupold was nominated for an LA Weekly theatre award for The Day Mary Shelley Met Charlotte Bronte, and his documentary, Superior People, was selected for screening at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.

Austin Peay's department of communication and theatre presents director and lighting designer Frank Leupold as part of the Fall 2003 Guest Workshop Series, Sunday, Nov. 9.

Leupold was nominated for an “LA Weekly” theatre award for “The Day Mary Shelley Met Charlotte Bronte,” and his documentary, “Superior People,” was selected for screening at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Leupold created Senior Stars for Boston's Commission on Affairs of the Elderly and was resident designer to the National Center of Afro-American Artists. He also directed “Don Giovanni” for Boston's Summer Opera Theatre and designed lighting for the Boston Ballet and Rael Lamb's “Dance for the New World.”

His lecture will begin at 3 p.m. in APSU's Trahern Theatre.
