Dimensions New Music Series features student concert

Austin Peays New Music Series will feature outstanding student performers and composers from the music department.

Alan Mearns, guitarist, will perform his new Sonata." Andrea Caldwell, mezzo-soprano, and Noah Raper, tenor, will sing At the Round Earths Imagind Corners by Hollie Orr.

In addition, the APSU Brass Quintet will play David Hazletts Overture in Brass while Sharon Nelsons Missa Brevis (Mass setting for Lent) will be performed by a womens ensemble from the APSU Chamber Singers.

Austin Peay's New Music Series will feature outstanding student performers and composers from the music department.

Alan Mearns, guitarist, will perform his new “Sonata." Andrea Caldwell, mezzo-soprano, and Noah Raper, tenor, will sing “At the Round Earth's Imagin'd Corners” by Hollie Orr.

In addition, the APSU Brass Quintet will play David Hazlett's “Overture in Brass” while Sharon Nelson's “Missa Brevis” (Mass setting for Lent) will be performed by a women's ensemble from the APSU Chamber Singers.

Mearns, along with singers Deidre Frazier, Lisa Butcher and Desiree Dolan, sopranos, Hollie Orr and Andrea Caldwell, mezzo-sopranos, Matt Sharp and Matt Lemons, baritones, Blaine Tooley and Noah Raper, tenors, and the APSU Brass Quintet will perform several other contemporary works.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, in the concert theatre of the music/mass communication building and is free and open to the public.
