Country singer Suzy Bogguss plays The Peay Aug. 14

Austin Peay will kick-off its annual Governors Club Membership and concert ticket drives at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, July 15, with a luncheon at the Pace Alumni Center on campus.Open to all Governors Club members and Austin Peay supporters, the free luncheon also will launch the Universitys 2004-05 Peay Pride campaign.

This years concert, featuring Suzy Bogguss, will be held Saturday, Aug. 14. The talented singer will not be at the kickoff luncheon because of previous commitments.

This year's concert, featuring Suzy Bogguss, will be held Saturday, Aug. 14. The talented singer will not be at the kickoff luncheon because of previous commitments.

What Governors Club and other APSU supporters will hear about are the numerous changes occurring in APSU athletics, including improvements to both the football field/track and the Dunn Center.
They also will hear about Bogguss, whose singing talents range from country to Western swing to jazz. In fact, she has been nominated for “Western Swing Female Artist of the Year” at the Academy of Western Artists-Will Rogers Cowboy Awards Show.

Her album, “Swing,” was selected as the 13th best album of 2003 by T.J. Simons. It was her ninth album in the 17 years she has been performing.

Tickets for the concert will be $100, including dinner and auction, with proceeds benefiting APSU athletics.
