Touting the theme, “It's never too late to enroll,” Hopkinsville Community College officials are offering more than 128 classes during the October term at a number of locations. Walk-in registration is ongoing for the 26 eight-week courses offered on the HCC North Drive campus and the eight courses offered at the West Regional Postsecondary Education Center (Murray State University). The North Drive campus and Regional Center courses begin on Oct. 19. After priority registration for active duty military, open registration for the 94 courses offered at the English Army Education Center on post will take place Oct. 7-8 for the eight-week classes that begin Oct. 12. Eighty percent of the state's first students to receive HOPE Lottery Scholarships are white and mostly female. Roughly three out of four students in that group were awarded the scholarship. (The Tennessean, 9/21/04)
