Community Concert Artist Series to host Boston Brass event

The Clarksville Community Concert Artist Series and the Austin Peay State University Department of Music will present a concert by the Boston Brass.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The admission is $25 for adults, $12 for students, and APSU students receive a free ticket with their student ID.

Performances by Boston Brass include classical arrangements, jazz standards and their own original work as well. The group performs more than 100 concerts a year and has traveled the world playing at various concerts and jazz festivals.

The quintet, featuring J.D. Shaw on French horn, Jeff Conner on trumpet, trombone and euphonium player Lance LaDuke, Jose Sibaja on trumpet and Andrew Hitz on tuba, has been showcased on “The CBS Early Show” as well as on National Public Radio's “Performance Today.”
