Inspired by land, sea and sky, Coleman reduces her landscapes to the bare essentials, evoking the feeling of a general place instead of a specific location. Her use of color juxtaposition and balance allow viewers to see afterimages around and within a painting, and flickering bands of color outside the painting's parameters.

Mode is an award-winning painter whose works can be found in private and public collections across the United States, as well as London and Switzerland. Her works are connected to specific times and places, intertwining nature, art and architecture into abstract topographies.

The exhibit and lecture are free and open to the public.
