Poynter's cycle came in consecutive plate appearances: he hit a double off the left field wall in the second; drove a solo home run just 10 feet to the right of that in the third; his triple in the fifth found its way down the left field line, and the finishing touch came in the sixth on a single through the left side. It is the first cycle by a Govs player since the 1996 season when Brock Maiser went 4-for-4 at Memphis.
