Artist Brigham Dimick to show work at APSU

The Trahern Gallery at Austin Peay State University will display selected works by artist, Brigham Dimick.

The show is titled Brigham Dimick: Drawings, Paintings, Waxworks. The artist will give a guest lecture prior to the opening of the show at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 in the Trahern Building, Room 401. There will be an opening reception at 8 p.m. outside the Trahern gallery.

The event is open to the public and there is no cost for admission. The show closes March 6.

Dimick's figurative work is allegorical and metaphorical. Dimick makes work that explores his own mortality as well as collective trauma experienced indirectly through the news.

Dimick received his M.F.A. from the University of Indiana in 1991. Currently, Dimick teaches as an associate professor in art and design at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
