The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, May 1 at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill, 751 N. Second St.

Titled “Reflections in Time,” Hall's 64-page book of poetry was released in January 2007. According to him, the book celebrates “love, life, legacy.”

Hall's poem, “Queen City,” toasts Clarksville's history as a city of celebrated writers.

Of interest to the area's military families and others, the poem “Warrior” commemorates the late NFL star and U.S. Army Special Forces Sgt. Patrick Tillman, while “Goodbye” is a tribute to CeeCee Lyles, United Flight 93 that went down over Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001.

The volume also contains several poems concerning such historically significant people as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta. “Natalee” is a tribute to the life of Natalee Holloway, who disappeared May 30, 2005, on a trip to Aruba.

Copies of “Reflections in Time” will be available for purchase, at $15 each, at the reception. Payment by cash, check or credit card will be accepted.
