APSU tennis teams split with Eastern Kentucky

Austin Peays tennis teams split with Eastern Kentucky April 9. The Governors won four of six singles matches to slip past the Colonels, 4-3, for their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the spring. Meanwhile, the Lady Govs were swept by the Lady Colonels, 7-0.

In mens play, APSU won at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, with Wes Panchos three-set victory at No. 5 singles clinching it.

In men's play, APSU won at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, with Wes Pancho's three-set victory at No. 5 singles clinching it.

At No. 1 singles, Marcos Queiroz rolled to a 7-5, 6-0 victory against John Kellert with Rodrigo Borges winning 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 and Joao Pinho taking his match at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2. The victory pushed the Govs mark to 9-7 overall, 1-3 in the OVC.

In women's play, EKU won every match to ease to the win. The Lady Govs fall to 4-16, 1-6 in the OVC.
