APSU School of Business, accounting students to offer free tax sessions

Austin Peay State University School of Business and its accounting students, in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service VITA program, are offering free tax-preparation sessions.

The sessions, which are available to the APSU and Clarksville community, are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays, Feb. 4, 11 and 18, and March 4 and 18 in Kimbrough Hall Room 214.

The service will provide basic tax returns and use the IRS e-file program.

To be eligible for this service, a taxpayer must have an annual income of less than $35,000 and cannot be a business owner or investor. Photo identification, Social Security card, Form W-2 and Form 1099 are required for taxpayer, spouse and dependents. For direct deposit, a bank-routing number (obtained from a deposit slip) is needed.
