APSU to host monthly video conference calls for Fort Campbell families with the 129th CSSB unit

Due to requests from soldiers, Austin Peay State University will host video teleconference calls on the third Saturday of each month for families of soldiers with the 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion at Fort Campbell, Ky., to communicate with their loved ones serving overseas.

Teleconference dates for 2008 are Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20. However, the session for Jan. 19 is full. The conferences, being held for the 129th CSSB unit only, will be hosted at the SSG Glenn H. English Jr. Education Center, Room 229 at Fort Campbell.

From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on those dates, each family will have the opportunity to spend 30 minutes with soldiers overseas.
The Center for Extended and Distance Education at Austin Peay is coordinating the effort with U.S. Army units at Fort Campbell and The Freedom Calls Foundation.

Freedom Calls is a public charity building a satellite communication network to enable troops in Iraq and Afghanistan to keep in touch with their families, free of charge.
