APSU faculty granted tenure, promotions this summer

On the recommendation of Austin Peays president, Dr. Sherry Hoppe, and Dr. Bruce Speck, vice president for academic affairs, last month the Tennessee Board of Regents approved the tenure and promotion of several APSU faculty.

Those granted tenure are Dr. Najmud Abedin, associate professor of public management, Dr. LuAnnette Butler, associate professor of psychology, Philenese Slaughter, associate professor of library administration, and Dr. Jim Vandergriff, associate professor of computer science.

On the recommendation of Austin Peay's president, Dr. Sherry Hoppe, and Dr. Bruce Speck, vice president for academic affairs, last month the Tennessee Board of Regents approved the tenure and promotion of several APSU faculty.

Faculty who were promoted to professor are Dr. Keith Belcher, department of biology, Dr. Susan Calovini, languages and literature department, Dr. Don Luck, department of education, Francis Massison, department of music, Dr. Ann Silverberg, department of music, Dr. Mickey Wadia, languages and literature department, Dr. Mohammed Waheeduzzaman, department of public management, Dr. Dixie Webb, art department, Dr. Mary Lou Witherspoon, math department, and Dr. Stanley Yates, music department.

Those who were promoted to associate professor are Dr. Rhonda Bryant, psychology department, Dr. Spencer Buckner, department of physics and astronomy, Dr. Alex King, department of physics and astronomy, and Patti Wilson, psychology department.
