Languages, Leisure Learning and Personal Development

“Fundamentals of Grant Writing” teaches successful strategies for writing grant proposals that concisely describe program needs, plans and costs. Classes run from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 6-26, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $54 and the textbook costs $39.

Community Service Programs

“Motorcycle Rider Class” provides basic mental and motor skills for new riders. The course meets from 6-10 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.- 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, June 6-8, at the APSU Armory Building, room 110. The course fee is $170 including textbook and insurance. “Parents, Children and DivorceMontgomery County” is the state-mandated course divorcing parents with minor children are required to take before the divorce is granted. The father and mother do not attend class at the same time, and children are not permitted to attend. Classes will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, June 7 or from 5:45-9:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, at APSU, Clement, 132. The course and textbook fee is $30.

Microsoft Office Specialist Prep

“MOS Intermediate MS PowerPoint 2000” teaches students to turn their drab facts and figures into overhead transparencies, 35 mm slides and electronic slide presentations. Students will learn to improve their presentations with multimedia slides, charts, outlines,
graphs, clip art and hypertext links. Classes run 6-9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 10-24, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $152, the lab fee is $5 and the textbook costs $42.

Computer Software Users' Training

“Microsoft Word Basics” teaches students to explore all the capabilities of MS Word. Students will learn to create, edit and organize documents; and make letters, tables, flyers and invitations. Classes meet 6-8 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, June 16-30, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $81, the textbook is $28, and the lab fee is $5.

“Microsoft PowerPoint Basics” is a hands-on course that explores the fundamentals of PowerPoint presentation software. Some experience in word processing and Windows 95-98 or 2000 is necessary. Classes run 6-8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 17-July 1, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $81, the lab fee is $5 and the textbook costs $28.

“Graphic Design Certificate Program” is a 12-18 month program that teaches students important design techniques, composition, typography, visual thinking and concept development. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.

“Digital Design Certificate Program” is a 6-18 month program focusing on digital media that teaches important design techniques, visual thinking, concept development, composition and typography. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.

“Multimedia Certificate Program” is a 12-18 month program that teaches the latest trends in multimedia design on the Web, in CD-ROMs or using Director, Flash or HTML. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.
