How To Start An Alumni Group
The APSU National Alumni Association have alumni groups across the state of Tennessee and around the nation. Alumni groups provide a medium through which the individual member of each group can contribute to the promotion and welfare of Austin Peay State University. Also, they provide a facility for stimulating interest in your area's group, its primary purposes and in Austin Peay State University.
Alumni groups bring faculty and other representatives of Austin Peay State University closer to the community, so that they may know more about the University, its activities and benefits.
Alumni groups host events such as annual events, community service projects, or special activities in their local communities.
Steps To Becoming An Alumni Group
Are you interested in starting an alumni group in your area? If so, please review the below steps.
1. Contact the APSU Alumni Relations Office at email@example.com or (931) 221-7979 and inform the staff of your interest in starting an alumni group in your area.
2. Receive approval from the APSU Natonal Alumni Association establishing your area as an official alumni group. Approval will be dependent upon strategic direction, budget of the APSU NAA and the number of alumni in your area.
3. Form an officer structure for the group. The most successful alumni groups have officers in place that assist in the growth of the group within your area.
4. Create a plan of events for the next year to keep your alumni group active and supporting the mission and goals of Austin Peay State University and the National Alumni Association.
