origin -  The point of attachment of a skeletal muscle that remains relatively fixed during contraction; the origin point is relative to a particular motion; -- in contradistinction to insertion.

insertion - The point or mode of attachment of a skeletal muscle to the bone or other body part that it moves; the insertion point is relative to a particular motion; -- in contradistinction to origin.

tendon - A band, strap or cord of tough, inelastic dense regular fibrous tissue that connects a skeletal muscle with its bony attachment or to some other structure.

aponeurosis - A sheetlike dense fibrous connective tissue membrane, serving as a flattened tendon to bind skeletal muscles together or as a means of connecting skeletal muscle(s) to bone.
