articulation = arthrosis - A fixed or movable joint between bones.
arthrology - That part of anatomy which studies joints.
kinesiology - The study of the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of body movement, especially in humans; clincally, the application of the principles of kinesiology to the evaluation and treatment of muscular imbalance or derangement.
osteoarthritis - A form of arthritis, occurring mainly in older persons, that is characterized by inflammation and chronic degeneration of the cartilage of the joints, with painful stiffness and swelling of the affected joints. [aka degenerative joint disease]
rheumatoid arthritis - A chronic disease of possible autoimmune origin marked by stiffness and inflammation of the joints, weakness, loss of mobility, and deformity.
gouty arthritis - A painful inflammation of a joint or joints, frequently the big toe and foot, caused by defects in uric acid metabolism resulting in elevated blood levels of uric acid and deposits of uric acid and its salts in the tissues and joints.
bursitis - Painful inflammation of a bursa, especially in the shoulder, elbow, or knee joint, occasionally accompanied by a calcification.
