APSU
Young Composers Competition
This competition has been held each
year at Austin Peay State University
since 1987. Originally limited to the
Southeastern United State, the
competition became national in 1993. Its
purpose is to encourage young composers
by providing professional-level
performances of their music as well as
financial incentive. In addition, it is
hoped that through this kind of
professional recognition there will be a
greater awareness of these young
composers in their communities. $1000
First Prize $400 Second Prize
$100 Third Prize
The
first prize winning entry will be
performed in the Dimensions
Contemporary Music Series at Austin Peay
State University.
