about half     of Master Sack’s
Negroes they left
 
the other half
Stayed on and they were free
 
now so they paid him shares / Stayed
on and some     eventually some
 
bought the mules he loaned them some
The land he let them work
And some his tools
 
for tearing up that land
for harvesting the seeds
