Recognized as one of America's premier instrumental ensembles, the LAGQ is one of the most charismatic groups performing today.

A featured performer on Eric Clapton's recent "Crossroads" guitar festival and the winner of the prestigious Walnut Valley Festival National Fingerstyle Champion in 2000.

He has just released his latest CD, The Santa Rita Connection. This newest collection is hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed Naked Pop CD, released on Steve Vai’s Favored Nations label.

As a sideman he has performed at such venues as the Hollywood Bowl and London's Royal Albert Hall with John Denver, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and stadiums around the world with numerous other pop and country superstars.

Described by Acoustic Guitar Magazine as "the Heifetz of the classical guitar," Philip Hii’s ground-breaking Bach CD received rave reviews from critics in Germany, England, Japan and the US and was chosen as Guitar Player Magazine's picks of the month. Another CD, "Stream of Consciousness," is a compilation of originals arranged for solo guitar and synthesizers. His latest CD, of music by Chopin, has just been released on the GSP label.

A native of Malaysia, Philip Hii started playing the guitar at age ten.

Described by the New York Times as "cultivated and musical," Stephen Aron has recently performed in Los Angeles, Montreal, Miami, Rochester, New Orleans, San Francisco, Quebec, Portland, New York and Tucson. His newest CD is a 3-disc set, features the complete 51 Chopin Mazurkas on solo guitar (Mel Bay).

A prizewinner in the 1983 GFA Competition, Mr. Aron has adjudicated and produced numerous national and international competitions, and has given lectures, performed and taught master classes at numerous guitar festivals, conservatories and colleges throughout the US.

APSU guitar instructor Roger Hudson is one of Nashville's most sought-after classical/electric guitar performers and session players. As a composer, he has written numerous works for solo guitar, along with chamber music and a concerto for guitar and strings (recently premiered by the Nashville Chamber Orchestra).

Roger's on-going feature column, "Fingerstyle Basics" appears in each issue of Fingerstyle Magazine.

APSU Professor of Music Dr. Stanley Yates celebrates his 10th year in Clarksville with an eclectic recital to include a Concerto for Classical Guitar and Jazz Piano, a Brazilian sonata for guitar and cello, and Spanish composer Francisco Tarrega's variations on the "Carnaval of Venice"

Yates can also be heard in various local venues as lead guitarist and singer with the all-faculty rock 'n roll group the "Oxymorons."
