Dr. Stanley Yates, coordinator of guitar studies

Described by Classical Guitar Magazine as "one of an elite breed of guitarists," Dr. Yates is an internationally recognized performer, teacher and scholar. He has given concerts throughout the United States and Europe, appearing frequently at the most important guitar festivals, conservatories and universities, and has presented masterclasses and lectures at such prestigious institutions as the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto).

An international prize-winner himself, he is often invited to adjudicate at major performance and composition competitions. He has recorded for Reference Recordings, Aeoloian Recordings and Heartdance Music, and his arrangements and editions are published world­wide by Mel Bay Publications in the Stanley Yates Series.

He is on the Advisory Boards of the Guitar Foundation of America, the European Guitar Teachers' Association and Mel Bay Publications.

Roger Hudson, adjunct instructor of guitar

Guitarist-composer Roger Hudson is one of Nashville's most sought-after classical/electric guitar performers and session players. As a composer, he has written numerous works for solo guitar, along with chamber music and a concerto for guitar and strings (recently premiered by the Nashville Chamber Orchestra).

His solo guitar compositions are published by Mel Bay Publications in The Guitar Collection of Roger Hudson and in such Mel Bay anthologies as Fingerpicking 2000, Jazz Guitar 2000 and Blues Guitar 2000.

His several CD recordings of original compositions include Guitarchitecture and Strings of Light on Tikal Records, along with two recordings of hymn arrangements for Pamplin records, Simplicity vols. 2 and 9.

Roger's on-going feature column, "Fingerstyle Basics" appears in each issue of Fingerstyle Magazine.
