of shelters for women.
The minor is also excellent preparation for teachers,
social workers, nurses, or any profession requiring
communication skills. The minor offers students a
specific perspective from which to understand the
diverse experience of women in various contexts and
disciplines, and it helps students develop analytical
and negotiation skills that they will need to be
successful in today's diverse workforce. Additionally,
the minor provides a theoretical framework for students
interested in pursuing graduate studies. Recent
graduates report that their women's studies minor
expanded their qualifications for jobs in state
government.
