We are excited that you have chosen to attend Austin Peay State University. You and your family probably have a lot of questions about APSU and college life in general. During Summer Welcome, we'll answer your questions, introduce you to academic and support services, show you how to get involved on campus and help you register for classes.
Note: The fee for Summer Welcome will be billed automatically to your student account, appearing on your tuition and fees statement as a "new student" fee. Attendance is mandatory if you're a first-time freshman.

Summer Welcome is the only way new APSU freshman can register for classes for fall semester. Remember, if you're coming to APSU with fewer than 12 college credit-hours, you are considered a freshman. During Summer Welcome, you will take part in academic advising and work with students to register for classes. You'll walk away from Summer Welcome with your fall class schedule, complete with course titles, days and times. When you return for orientation in August, you will be a comfortable, confident APSU student.
The Morgan University Center (UC) main floor, or second floor, is where you will need to check-in for Summer Welcome. Arrive no later than 8:30am for check-in. Follow the Welcome red signs and the directions from our Registration & Orientation Assistants, who are in bright yellow shirts.

Yes! We strongly encourage parents and family members to attend. Their support, understanding and encouragement can affect your success as a student tremendously.
While you meet with advisers and register for classes, your family members will attend separate sessions that address their particular questions or concerns. The cost to attend is $15 per guest. This fee is paid on site at Summer Welcome and covers lunch and materials.
Note: Due to the nature of Summer Welcome, children should not attend. Parents may not attend academic advising sessions.
Yes, you must attend every activity in order to register for classes at the end of the Welcome session.
Several one-day sessions are offered in June, July and August. Register for the earliest date possible. The sooner you attend Summer Welcome, the better selection of classes that will be available to you.
Letters will be sent by mail from the Office of Admissions with specific information you need in order to register for a Summer Welcome session. Please review the letter carefully.
Follow the Welcome signs to Eighth Street and Marion Street. The large parking lot, commonly known as the Music/Mass Communications parking lot, is also next to the Governors Stadium. You will also see our Registration & Orientation Assistants in bright yellow shirts to help guide you to APSU!
