Resources

One of the critical roles and responsibilities of  VetSuccess On Campus is to make our Veterans, Active Duty Military, and Dependents aware of the key resources available to them as they pursue their educational and career goals.  The VetSuccess On Campus office maintains a comprehensive listing of resources, but the resources below represent what we feel are the most critical services that you will need and want to access during your academic career.

APSU Military Student Center (MSC)    Austin Peay State University established the Military Student Center in 2010 to better serve the needs of the Veterans, Active Duty/Reserve personnel, ROTC students, and family members that attend the university. The center has a computer center, a lounge, and dining area to allow students to either work on homework or to relax and unwind from the day surrounded by fellow likeminded students. The Center offers programs throughout the academic year to address the challenges our student population faces. One such program we recently established is the Text for Vets program that relies on student donations to provide text books for fellow students free of charge. We are available every week day that the school is open to assist students in MUC 120 (located behind the Post Office).  Hours of Operation: Monday - Tuesday 8am - 6pm and Wednesday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Phone: 931.221.1685   Website:  apsu.edu/military   Email: msc@apsu.edu

APSU Office of Disability Services (ODS)   has the critical mission of ensuring equal access for students with disabilities to all curricular and co-curricular opportunities offered by Austin Peay State University.  They accomplish this mission by providing reasonable accommodations, including note taking, testing accommodations, alternate format books and materials, and assistive technology.  In addition, ODS has an assistive technology laboratory available to students, as well as assistive technology aides available for loans.  Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30 pm.  Phone: 931.221.6230  Website: www.apsu.edu/disability   Email: ods@apsu.edu

APSU Office of Veterans Affairs (OVA) The mission of OVA is to assist active duty service members, veterans, reservists, Guardsmen, and family members with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits and services they have earned.  The OVA will guide students in certifying for classes required for their college major, and will explain how the different education programs such as Chapter 30 Montgomery G.I. Bill and Chapter 33 Post 9/11 G.I. Bill work.  Hours of Operation Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30 pm.  Phone: 931.221.7760 (main campus) 931.221.1462 (Ft. Campbell campus)  Website: www.apsu.edu/veterans-affairs  Email: ova@apsu.edu

APSU Student Veteran Organization (SVO) The APSU Student Veterans Organization serves Veterans, Active Duty & Family Members. They exist to help students who represent  a large but often silent and overlooked part of the student body.  By becoming involved in the SVO, students are able to better integrate into campus life, and through networking and advocacy, are in a better position to access a broad range of services available to them during their academic career.  In addition, the SVO can represent  and  advocate for  Veterans, and  Family Members  both on the main  campus and at  the     Ft. Campbell campus.  Primary Contac:  Jason Matthews, SVO President.  Phone:  931.221.1685  Email:  StudentVeteranOrganization@gmail.com

APSU Student Counseling Services The center's mission is to counsel, teach, and support students, faculty, staff and the community in a university setting.  Student Counseling Services offers a wide range of services and programs to assist students in maximizing their potential for success.  The primary goal of the center is to promote a healthy campus environment and enhance student learning. The staff provides assistance to students who are dealing with situational crises, adjustment problems, and emotional difficulties. All sessions are confidential and free of charge for all currently enrolled APSU students.  Phone:  931.221.6162  Website:  www.apsu.edu/counseling Email: dalep@apsu.edu
