VUB Seminars

Each spring and fall term, VUB offers a variety of seminars that advance veterans' computer literacy and study skills. Veterans can take these seminars in addition to their academic studies. If you are not a VUB student, become one soon to take advantage of these seminars.

Spring Term 2011

The seminars for the Spring Term, 2011 will be taught at the APSU main campus learning center on the following schedule:

 

 

Tuesday, March 15:                        Goal setting and Time Management

     Starts 9:00 a.m.                        Learn how to set goals for college and your
                                                      career.  Create study schedules that help
                                                       you meet deadlines for tests and papers.

 

Wednesday, March 23                              Improving Reading Skills

     Starts 10:00 a.m.                          Learn methods to double your reading
                                                          speed and improve comprehension.

 

Tuesday, March 29:                        Note Taking and Test Taking Skills

     Starts 9:00 a.m.                          Learn to take notes effectively in class.
                                                      Find out how to take a variety of tests.
                                                     (Some instruction on taking classes online
                                                        may be included, if students want this.)

 

Wednesday, April 6:                                     Internet Research Skills

    Starts 10:00 a.m.                            Find out how to search for resources
                                                          on the Internet and the online library
                                                        for papers you must write. If professors
                                                       tell you to “use MLA (or APA) style,” find
                                                                   out where to look for help.
