TPA Conference 2019 Special Topic: the Study of Creative Nonfiction

The focus on the study of creative non-fiction means scholarly articles written about works of creative non-fiction; however, works of creative non-fiction may be considered.

Creative non-fiction is writing based on actual experience and events, usually involving the author directly, using the devices and techniques of traditional creative writing.  Specific forms in the genre include the memoir, biography or autobiography, the personal essay, travel or nature writing, and literary journalism.

Papers addressing the year’s theme of the study of creative nonfiction will receive first consideration for publication in the TPA Bulletin; however, papers on any subject in literature, English pedagogy, or diverse media are welcome. Abstracts for papers dealing with any aspect of literature, language, and linguistics (including foreign language) should be no more than 300 words. Papers must be kept to a twenty-minute (20-minute) reading time, not to exceed ten (10) pages. They should be written and read in English.
