The GED Tests are designed to measure skills and concepts generally associated with four years of regular high school instruction. The GED Tests measure an individual’s knowledge in science, math, social studies, reading, and writing, including an essay that assesses the ability to write and communicate effectively. The GED is administered locally at the CMCSS Greenwood Complex on Greenwood Avenue. For further information on taking the GED or GED practice tests, you may contact the Greenwood Complex at (931) 542-5040.

The HiSET test is designed to determine a candidate's attainment of academic knowledge and skills equivalent to those of a high school graduate. Information from the HiSET program also will help identify areas in which candidates are career-and college-ready, as well as areas in which additional preparation may be needed (University of Iowa ITP). General information about the HiSET can be found at hiset.org.
