Conference Calling on the APSU Telephone System

To set up a conference call, there needs to be a pilot station, which can be any phone, but has to be the one that starts the conference call.
  1. The pilot station calls the first person for the conference then transfers that person to 2990 and hangs up.
  2. The pilot station calls each additional person for the conference, and transfers each to 2990.  The pilot hangs up after each transfer.
  3. When all callers are included, the pilot station dials “33” to join the conference, then “0” to lock the call so nobody else can join.  After pressing “0” the pilot station can remain as a participant in the conference call, or hang up to leave the call.  If the pilot station stays as a part of the call, the pilot can press “#” when the call is concluded to disconnect all participants.  If the pilot leaves the conference early, the call is ended when the last participant hangs up.

NOTE:  Extension 2990 is an Austin Peay internal number, it can not be dialed from off-campus!  Conference calls can be set up only from on campus.
