If you still have your NEC phone and have not switched to the new voice mail system, please use the following instructions:
To switch from the old system to the new, one needs only to direct calls to 5555 instead of 1111 and to call 5555 to listen to messages.
- Lift the handset, listen for dial tone, then press #6 to cancel call forward busy. You will hear a constant tone indicating your forward has been cancelled. Hang up.
- Lift the handset, listen for dial tone, then press #7 to cancel call forward no answer. You will hear a constant tone indicating your forward has been cancelled. Hang up.
- Lift the handset, listen for dial tone, press *6 to set call forward busy. You will hear a stutter tone similar to a busy signal. Press 5555. You will hear a constant tone confirming your forward is set.
- Lift the handset, listen for dial tone, press *7 to set call forward no answer. You will hear a stutter tone similar to a busy signal. Press 5555. You will hear a constant tone confirming your forward is set.
- Dial 5555 and follow the prompts to set up your new voice mailbox. The default password is 0000#.
Don’t forget you now dial 5555 to listen to voice mail messages.
