Spring 2012 Orientation Schedule

Due to budget cuts, the number of Orientation offerings has decreased. Please pay attention to the number, types and locations of the offerings. Classroom space will be limited to 30 participants per Orientation.

 ATTENTION:
Spring Orientation classes will take place in the Kimbrough Building on the APSU campus.  The Kimbrough Building is on the corner of Marion Street and Henry Street.  Please click here for a campus map.

SPRING 2012

Center-Based Orientation

  • Montgomery County
  • February 6, 9, 20, 23, March 12, 15, 26, 29, April 9, 12, 2012
  • Weekdays: 6:00-9:00 p.m.  Saturdays: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Family Child Care Orientation

  • Montgomery County
  • January 21, February 4, 18, March 3, 24, 2012
  • Saturdays: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

 Infant/Toddler Orientation

  • Montgomery County
  • February 6, 9, 20, 23, March 12, 15, 26, 29, April 9, 12, 2012
  • Weekdays: 6:00-9:00 p.m.  Saturdays: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

School-Age Orientation

  • Montgomery County
  • January 21, February 4, 18, March 3, 17, 2012

Orientation Descriptions:

  • Family Child Care Orientation is designed for Early Childhood Professionals working with children in a family or group home.
  • Infant/Toddler Orientation is designed for Early Childhood Professionals working with children ages birth to two years in child care centers.
  • Center-Based Orientation is designed for Early Childhood Professionals working with children ages three to five in child care centers.
  • Administrator Orientation is designed for Directors, Assistant Directors, Owners, Program Coordinators and other Administrative Staff.
  • School Age Orientation is designed for Early Childhood Professionals working with school-age children in child care centers.

Additional Information:

  • There is no charge for TECTA Orientation training.  Orientation is provided through a grant from the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
  • You must attend all classes (30 hours) to receive a TECTA Certificate.
  • Spaces are limited and enrollment is on a "First-Come" basis.  Occasionally, door prizes drawn in class and every student who has perfect attendance will receive a special prize.
  • For optimal learning, it is recommended that students enroll in the orientation most specific to the age-group served.
  • Limited to 3 participants per orientation per center.
  • You must mail, fax, or e-mail the Spring 2012 Orientation Enrollment Request Form for each participant.  A confirmation postcard will be sent via mail or email to each enrolled participant.
  • Confirmation of enrollment will be sent via email.
