The APSU Web site is an informational medium for prospective and current students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors. Therefore, it is essential that your Web site stays updated and timely, and that you offer the best user experience possible. APSU has made available a template for departmental use that strives for this type of consistent user experience.
The following color palette is used exclusively across the APSU Web site. No colors outside of this range should be used for text highlighting or backgrounds for content.
This heading size should be used as the title of each Web page.
This heading style should be used as a secondary heading on your Web page. It can also be used as a sidebar heading.
This heading should be used as an internal heading for lists, etc...
Heading 4 can be used as an announcement box on your Web page(s).
Paragraph text is styled automatically. You should not alter the font, size, color or style of paragraph text in any way. Small areas of text, such as impoprtant statements or phrases can be bolded and/or italicized and the color can be altered. We suggest using color value #a50004 for any text emphasis.
Hyperlinks are also styled automatically. You should not alter the font, size, color or style of hyperlinks in any way. However, hyperlinks can be bolded and/or italicized, if desired.
Hyperlinks pointed directly to certain types of pages or documents will appear with specific icons to the right of them. This is an automatic styling process and cannot be altered.
Images are an integral part of any Web site. However, misuse of images can be a deterrant to any Web site. Follow the guidelines below for proper use of images within the APSU template.
Images placed within your main content area will automatically be styled with a border (examples below). This is an automatic styling process and cannot be altered.
