Austin Peay State University International Education prepares students to be knowledgeable about the world, experienced with intercultural communication, and equipped with an international skill set necessary to support our future community needs in an increasingly international society. The Global Learning Scholarship funds provide greater access to study-abroad & exchange program opportunities by providing two categories of awards for students participating in APSU sponsored Study-Abroad & Exchange programs.

 

 

Merit Scholarships

Full-time main campus students interested in studying abroad with APSU sponsored study abroad & exchange programs are encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline for Winter and Spring 2008-09 Programs: October 15, 2008

Application Deadline for Summer and Fall 2009 programs: March 15, 2009

Eligibility requirements:

 Full-time main campus student that has paid the general access fee either for the spring semester or fall semester preceding the study-abroad or exchange program.

Applicants must have completed at least one full semester at APSU, have a record of enrollment, and a G.P.A. on file.

No history of student code of conduct violations.

3.0 G.P.A

First-time recipients will be given preference over past recipients of Global Learning Merit Scholarships.

Applicants that demonstrate an intent to return to APSU for at least one semester following their study-abroad will be given preference over students that will not be returning after their study-abroad experience, with the exception of graduating seniors.

The qualified applicant will demonstrate participation in APSU sponsored international activities including student organizations and campus events.

The qualified applicant will also demonstrate a need to complete the study-abroad or exchange program to further the mission of the global learning scholarships and to meet future educational and professional goals.

 

Application process:

1)      Complete the online application for Global Learning Merit Scholarships. If you plan to apply for the Global Learning Travel grant you must complete a separate application, located in the Global Learning travel grant section below.

2)      Attach two sealed letters of recommendation from university faculty or staff in official APSU letterhead and envelope

3)      Attach a 300 word minimum essay that describes any participation in International events & organizations, educational goals, and relevance of the study-abroad experience to those goals.

4)      Attach a copy of your official academic transcript

5)      Send the application along with the current academic transcript, essay, and sealed letters of recommendation to:

 Travel Grants

Full-time main campus students interested in studying abroad with APSU sponsored study-abroad & exchange programs are encouraged to apply for travel grants to assist with expenses related to travel.

Application Deadline for Winter and Spring 2008-09 Programs: October 15, 2008

Application Deadline for Summer and Fall 2009 programs: March 15, 2009

Eligibility requirements:

ˇ        Full-time main campus student that has paid the general access fee either for the spring semester or fall semester preceding the study-abroad or exchange program.

ˇ        No history of student code of conduct violations.

ˇ        Academically eligible to enroll in APSU coursework abroad.

Application process:

1)      Complete the online application form. for the Global Learning Travel grant. If you will be applying for the Global Learning Merit Scholarship you must complete a separate application located in the Global Learning Merit Scholarship section above.

2)      Print a copy of the form.

3)      Obtain a copy of your current academic transcript.

4)      Send the application along with the current academic transcript to Austin Peay State University International Education P.O. Box 4855 Clarksville, TN 37044
