Austin Peay State University & University of Orléans Exchange Program

Austin Peay has an exchange agreement with the University of Orléans which allows APSU students to study French for one or two semesters in Orléans, a city of 105,000 which is centrally located about one hour south of Paris.
Students pay APSU tuition and receive 12-18 credits per semester for French or Study Abroad coursework. Classes include French composition, grammar, speaking, phonetics and listening comprehension, with optional afternoon activities like singing and theater. Some previous knowledge of French is required (FREN 2020 or equivalent). French dormitory and meal costs are similar to American expenses.
Orléans, the City of Joan of Arc, is situated in the Loire valley, close to many historic châteaus. There is ample time to travel in France and other European countries. Enjoy the Christmas market in December and the Joan of Arc festival in the spring. A year of total immersion in the French language will give you the confidence you need in comprehending, speaking and writing French.
