Family Weekend 2015: September 26 & 27

Family Weekend 2015 is set for September 26 & 27: We encourage all families to preregister starting in August!  For further questions please contact Student Life and Engagement at (931) 221-7431.  The deadline to preregister is Sunday, September 20. Day of registration will be accepted, but will not receive brunch tickets.  

Schedule of Events

Saturday, Sept. 26

10 A.M. - Noon

   Check-In (Morgan University Center Ballroom A/B)

  • Continental Breakfast
  • Family Photos (provided by Student Publications)
  • Faculty Meet & Greet (MUC Ballroom C)
  • Department Info Fair
  • Grant-Funded Projects Display 

Noon - 1 P.M.

   Lunch on your own- feel free to visit the APSU Cafe or Subway on campus. 

12:15 P.M. 

   Campus Tour (Departs from the MUC Ballroom)

1:00-4:00 P.M.

   Family Carnival and Open Rec (Foy Fitness Center)

  • Featuring exotic animals, inflatables, carinval games, caricature artists, face painting, balloon artist, rock climbing, open swim, air hockey, ping pong, and more!
  • Sponsored by Govs Programming Council (GPC) and University Recreation

1:00 P.M.

   Latecomer Check-In (Foy Fitness Center)

1:30 P.M.

   Campus Tour (Departs from Foy Fitness Center lobby)

2:00 P.M. 

   Govs Trail to Success Walk (Departs from Foy Fitness Center lobby)

  • Featuring Dr. Mickey Wadia, "Touching History: How Travel Grows The Mind"

2:30 P.M. 

  Service Saturday (Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement) 

  • Learn about the volunteer expereince at APSU. Sort food pantry donations, help in the garden and look after the campus chickens. 

3:00 P.M.

   Govs Trail to Success Walk (Departs from Foy Fitness Center lobby)

  • Featuring Dr. Robert "Wes" Atkinson

4:00-6:30 P.M.

   Food Truck Lineup (Corner of Drane and Marion Street, near IM Field)

6:00 P.M. 

   The Gov Run (IM Field)

  • Experience APSU's newest tradition as it enters its third year of a campus wide color run!
  • Register at, search for "The Gov Color Run" and enter 'FamilyWeekend' for 15% off!
  • Sponsored by APSU Alumni Affairs

8:00 - 10:30 P.M.

   Dueling Pianos (MUC Ballroom)

  • Live dueling piano sing-along entertainment for the whole family! 
  • Sponsored by GPC, Hispanic Cultural Center, and Housing and Residence Life

Sunday, Sept. 27

9:30 - 11:00 A.M.

   Latecomer Check-in (MUC Lobby)

10:00 A.M.

   Nondenominational Service (MUC Ballroom)

  • Non-denominatonal student-led worship service in the MUC ballroom. Worship service will include music, student testimonies, and bible study. All students and family members are welcome to attend. 

11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. 

   President's Brunch (APSU Cafe)

  • Meet APSU President Alisa White and chat with faculty members
  • Free with preregistration

1:00 - 4:00 P.M. 

   Mudbowl (Dunn Bowl)

  • Mud volleyball tournament with water inflatable for entertainment for the whole family!
  • Sponsored by Student Government Association and Student Affairs.
